Capacity Building Grants now open

The Rio Tinto Children's Diabetes Centre; a Breakthrough T1D Centre of Excellence is excited to offer Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) researchers and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students affiliated with the Global CoE, the opportunity to apply for sponsorship for training or capacity building related activities.

Launching TRACE T1D

We are excited to launch this first-of-its-kind Australian study, monitoring glucose levels in Australian children and adolescents who have tested positive to having one or more type 1 diabetes related antibodies but do not yet need treatment with insulin.

Researcher Spotlight - Jeff Cannon

Dr Jeffrey Cannon is a Health Economist at The Kids Research Institute Australia. Jeff completed his PhD in health economics at the University of Western Australia. His work in health and medical research spans across maternal and newborn health, infectious diseases and more recently, childhood onset diabetes.

Honours and Masters Scholarship

Applications are open for our 2025 Honours and Masters Scholarships with the purpose of providing funding for students to develop and support their type 1 diabetes (T1D) related research.
